Chris had the best smile, and at different times and ages that smile was sometimes shy, sometimes mischievous, sometimes full of joy. I recall we were playing keep-away in a pool at a boy-scout camp. All the scouts were playing pretty hard, but Chris played the game of keep-away on a different level: all-out, with the intensity of an NFL linebacker. In the history of keep-away, perhaps no one has played harder than Chris played that day, and I bore some minor scars to prove it, but still laugh just thinking about how "in the moment" he was. He was a good friend to my son, Jackson, and he will always remain in our family's hearts.
