Services for Christopher D. Wheeler, age 47, of Sutherland who passed away on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Cherokee Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, April 28, 2025, at Sutherland Church of Christ with Pastor John Erickson, officiating.
Visitation with family present will be from 10 A.M. until service time on Monday, April 28, 2025, at Sutherland Church of Christ.
Arrangements are under the care of the Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Paullina.

CHRISTOPHER D. WHEELER
Christopher David Wheeler, the son of David and Barbara (Woodyard) Wheeler was born on February 1, 1978, in Cherokee, Iowa. He received his education from South O’Brien Schools, graduating in 1996. He was married to Tonya Hurtig and to this union, one daughter, Hannah, was born. The couple later divorced. For the past ten years, Chris has worked for Schoon Construction in Cherokee. Chris was taken from this life too soon, passing away on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Cherokee Regional Medical Center reaching the age of 47 years, 2 months and 20 days.
Chris was a huge Raider’s fan, he enjoyed his dogs and playing with RC cars. He was a man that was known to do anything for anyone. His true joy in life was being a papa to Stella and he was excited for the birth of his grandson.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Hannah (Talon) Hurtig; granddaughter, Stella; soon to be grandson; Baker Christopher; special friend, Michele Pattison; his parents, David and Barbara Wheeler; sisters, Erica and Angel Wheeler; grandmother, Connie Wheeler; nephew, Alec Wheeler; aunts and uncles, Sarah Henderson, Mary (Jim) Fitzpatrick, Terry (Kathy Woodyard), Floyd Woodyard, Sharon (Mark) Clausen, and Chris (Bob) Doe; cousins, Jessica “Woody” Woodyard, Ryan (Ginnia) Beermann, Shanda (Chad) Guinn, Brittany (Brett) Hutton, Justin Woodyard, Savannah Woodyard, Adam (Rachel) Clausen, Kaylinn (Dylan) Anderson, and Jackson Doe; also many other aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends.
Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents, Donna and Floyd Woodyard and Norm Wheeler and cousin, Halas Guinn.
