Chrysostomos "Chris" Varelogiannis

Chrysostomos (Chris) Varelogiannis, age 94, passed away in his home in New Port Richey, FL on Saturday, November 22, 2025. Mr. Varelogiannis was born in Trikala, Greece on November 13, 1931. He served as a pilot in the Greek Air Force and then worked in a hardware store in Trikala. He married Connie Varelogiannis in 1961 and together they moved to Lowell, MA where they lived for over 40 years. There he worked as a produce manager at Demoulas Market Basket before moving to Florida in 2006. He was a proud Greek Orthodox Christian and a devoted member of Sts. Raphael, Nicholas, and Irene Greek Orthodox Church in Palm Harbor, FL.

He is survived by his loving daughter Helen Koufogazos and her husband Steven Koufogazos; his beloved grandchildren Costas (Megan) Koufogazos and Vivian Koufogazos; and his great-granddaughter Eleni Koufogazos. He was the last surviving member of his five siblings and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

The viewing will be Tuesday, November 25th from 5-7pm at Dobies Funeral Home, 701 East Tarpon Ave, Tarpon Springs, FL. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 26th at 11am at Sts. Raphael, Nicholas, and Irene Greek Orthodox Church, Palm Harbor, FL. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens at 12609 Memorial Dr, Trinity, FL where he will be laid to rest beside his late wife, Connie Varelogiannis.
