Cindy Sue Basler, age 56 of Polson, lost her battle with cancer, passing away peacefully in her home with family Sunday, December 30, 2012. She was born September 21, 1956 in Billings, MT to Lenard and Helen Temanson. Cindy and her family lived many places in her young years, most time being spent between Dayton, MT and Alaska. She attended high school in Wrangle, AK with her sister Pam, but completed her second half of school in Polson, graduating in 1975. That summer she met Bruce Basler and they were married October 4th of that same year. Bruce and Cindy were partners in both life and work. She helped run the family beekeeping business while providing a home for her family. She was an avid quilter and reader, but also enjoyed time outside where she could often be found enjoying a long walk. In recent years, she also attended the cancer support meetings and made many special friends there. Cindy was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Temanson; her parents, Lenard and Helen Temanson; and her nephew Ron Ely. Cindy is survived by her husband, Bruce Basler; son, Paul Basler and wife Sam; daughter Tracee Corrigan and husband Bill; son, Kyle Basler and wife Katie, all of Polson; her brother, Dick Temanson and wife Toni of Kelso, WA; sister Pam Ely and husband Bill of Juneau, AK; brother, Craig Temanson also from Juneau, AK; many nieces and nephews in Washington and Alaska; and her first grandchild expected in January. Memorials can be made to the Cheerful Hearts Society. Rosary will be held Thursday, January 3rd at 7:00 pm at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Services will be on Friday, January 4th at 11:00 am at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, graveside service will follow at Lake View Cemetery. Reception to follow the burial in the church basement. Pallbearers are Dick Temanson, Paul Basler, Kyle Basler, Bill Corrigan, James Basler, and Chuck Jenne. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Ely, Craig Temanson, Nick Temanson, Robert Ely, Richard Ely, and Ted Basler. Messages of condolences may be shared with the family at www.groganfuneralhome.com.
