Brighton - Cindy Klunk, 60, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at her home on February 21,
2024, after a valiant and courageous four-year battle against cancer.
She was born on June 14, 1963, in Jerseyville to the late Ralph (Jerry) and Lura (Mooney) Brangenberg.
She married the love of her life, William B. Klunk on March 28, 1981, at St. Anselm's Catholic Church in
Kampsville and together they built a life full of love and cherished moments.
A devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Cindy is survived by her husband Bill, two sons Chad
(Tess) Klunk and Garrett (Julia) Klunk of Alton. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her five
grandchildren, her "diamonds" – Jay, Ty, Hallie, Max, and Rex. She was a member of St. Alphonsus
Catholic Church in Brighton.
In addition to her husband and sons, she is survived by her dear sister Connie (Terry) Roundcount of
Brighton and two brothers Gary (Melba) Brangenberg of Kampsville and Dennis (Jane) Brangenberg of
Pearl, her mother and father in-law Bill and Sherry Klunk of Kampsville, her sister-in-law Jeanna Klunk of
Bloomington and brother-in-law Bruce (Nicky) Klunk of Sikeston, MO, and numerous nieces, nephews,
extended family members and good friends.
Cindy was a proud graduate of Calhoun High School, Class of 1981. A dedicated homemaker, she found
joy in spending time with her family. Her role as "Grandma" held a special place in her heart, and she
embraced it with boundless love and enthusiasm, she was the "Baby Whisperer".
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8pm Monday, February 26th at Gress Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Hardin.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Tuesday, February 27th at St. Anselm's Catholic Church in Kampsville, IL. Burial will follow at Summit Grove Cemetery in Kampsville, IL.
