Ciprian Septimo Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Las Rosas Funeral Home, Inc. - Brooklyn on Dec. 30, 2025.
In Loving Memory of Ciprian Septimo September 26, 1932 – December 29, 2025 Ciprian Septimo was born in Villa Mella, Dominican Republic. He transitioned on December 29, 2025, leaving behind a life rich in resilience, laughter and spirited joy. Born on September 26, 1932, Ciprian was the son of Francisco Giron Septimo and Eulogia Cleto Brito. He was preceded by 4 siblings: Francisco, Juan, Tinita, and Jacinta and survived by his sister Rosita. Orphaned as a young boy he was a hardworking and determined youngster who as a teenager enrolled in school to be a telegraph operator. At 16 he added 3 years to his age (the beginning of a lifelong discrepancy in his age and last name) and enlisted in the Dominican Merchant Marines. Ciprian spent two decades as a longshoreman. Through his labor and vision, he was able to purchase several properties-Among them, none held more meaning than the building affectionately known as "La Cuarta," located at 160 4th Avenue, a place that came to symbolize his pride, effort, and enduring footprint. Ciprian lived life in motion. He loved walking, running, biking, and embracing new adventures whenever the opportunity arose. A fierce competitor by nature, he brought passion to everything he did-especially while playing dominoes. His legendary trash talk and competitive spirit are cherished memories, particularly by his grandsons & sons-in-law, who shared countless games, laughter, and lessons with him. He was a voracious seeker of knowledge and could share facts on a wide range of matters. He was preceded in death by his only son Ciprian (Junior), his wife Maria Teresa Salazar de Septimo and his ex wife Maria Teresa Calderón. He leaves behind his beloved daughters: Donna, Ciprinni, Arleen, Mary, and Eulogia, son in laws: John & Teddy and his treasured grandchildren: Priscilla, Nalisio, Miguel, Tatiana, Tony, Maggie, Freddy Mario, Roxanna and Jeremiah, each of whom carries forward his strength, humor, and love of life. Ciprian Septimo will be remembered as a man of grit and heart-a competitor, an adventurer, and above all, a man whose legacy lives on through generations. May his memory be eternal and his journey onward be peaceful.
