Ciro Tenaglia

Ciro Tenaglia of Melrose passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025 at the age of 94.
Born on August 25, 1931 in the city of Lanciano Italy. He was called to America by his brother Umberto in 1947 at the age of 17. It was in the North End that he met his beautiful wife Antonietta (Zizza) Tenaglia through mutual friends. Ciro was the owner of the Oak Grove barbershop in Malden. His shop was a favorite hangout. He knew everyone and long lines greeted him on the rare vacation or day off. He was a gifted listener. Everyone had his attention from the janitor to the CEO. He enjoyed listening to his children's stories. He spent many winters in Puerto Vallarta Mexico where he made many friends. Summers were spent at his home in Wareham in his big vegetable garden with his wife the supervisor. He could be found driving around in his golf cart talking to all the neighbors. He especially loved visits with his children, grandchildren & great grandchildren. He was an honest, dependable, hard-working, loving Husband, Dad,Nonno and good friend. He had the most handsome smile. We will all miss him terribly. He now joins his beautiful wife Antonietta and Daughter Rosie.
Ciro leaves behind his children Ralph & his wife Joanne Tenaglia, Anna & her husband Lou Sorgi, Christine & Claire Tenaglia, His adored grandchildren Ralph Tenaglia, Andrea Spano, Louis Sorgi and Danielle Griecci and 10 great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2025 from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster Street, Melrose. The funeral will be held from the Gately Funeral Home at 9:00 AM followed by A Mass Of Christian burial on Monday, October 27, 2025 at 10:00 AM in St. Mary's Church, Herbert Street, Melrose. Entombment will follow the Mass in Holy Cross Mausoleam, Broadway, Malden. Family & Friends respectfully invited to attend.
