Ciro "Jerry" Vuoso, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother was called home on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at the age of 84.

Born on August 24, 1941, in Brooklyn, New York, Jerry was raised in Brooklyn and later lived in Staten Island where he made his home for many years before relocating to Lavallette, NJ.

For over 58 years, Jerry was a devoted and caring husband to his beloved wife, Carol. Together, they nurtured a warm and loving family. He is survived by his three children, George (Alissa), Karolyn, and John (Elizabeth), and a doting grandfather to Johnathan (Jessica), Samantha, George, Giana, and Vincent.

He was dear brother to Mary Mattera, Evelyn Vuoso, Linda Pollack, the late Joseph Vuoso and Barry Pollack. Jerry was preceded in death by his loving parents, Giorgio and Francesca.

Jerry's greatest joy was his family. He took immense pride in being his grandchildren's biggest fan, celebrating their victories and accomplishments with unwavering enthusiasm. Known for his generous heart, Jerry was always ready to lend a hand to those in need, embodying the spirit of kindness and compassion.

A hardworking man, Jerry owned and operated a produce business that served the people of Staten Island for over 30 years, Jerry spent recent winters in The Villages, Florida with his wife Carol, where they enjoyed the pleasures of dining out with friends, playing golf, and enjoying bocce games.

A man of deep faith, Jerry was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church, actively participating in St. Joseph-St. Thomas Parish and the Men's Club, upon moving to Staten Island. He played a vital role in starting the Bingo program to support the parish school and was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, Stolzenthaler Council No. 1675, from 1975 to the present. He Lived his New York Cursillo English Weekend in April 1975 and has been an active member of the Staten Island Ultreya ever since.

His commitment to service extended to the community through a weekly prison ministry that served the men at the Staten Island Arthur Kill Facility and he became part of several teams that held REC (Residents Encounter Christ) and HEC (Handicapped Encounter Christ) weekends in the Archdiocese of New York.

Since moving to Lavallette in 2020, Jerry embraced his new community, becoming an active member of the Lavallette Seniors and the Ocean Beach Yacht Club, where he continued to make friends and share joy with those around him.

Jerry Vuoso leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday at St. Thomas The Apostle Church located at 6135 Amboy Rd Staten Island, New York 10309. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.
