BAVIS, Claire (Lacerda), devoted wife, mother and grandmother, age 93, of Boston, passed

away peacefully on April 24, 2025. Claire was the daughter of the late Roy Lacerda and Louise

Dionne. She is predeceased by the love of her life, Bob, with whom she was happily married to

for 55 years. Claire is survived by her sons Robert and Paul, her daughter-in-law Susan, along

with her grandchildren Eryn and Brooke. Her son Larry predeceased her in 2023.

Claire was born in Brighton and grew up in Boston. She married her lifetime love Bob in 1952.

Together they had 3 sons and raised them in South Boston.

Although she had no siblings her husband Bob came from a big family. Over the years there

were always weekend outings to family cookouts and other events. The biggest however was

hosted by Claire and Bob every March for the annual Boston St. Patrick’s Day parade. The

family have always been kind and loving throughout the years.

Claire’s passion was making sure her husband and sons were always taken care of and made

sure to keep a comfortable home. She enjoyed going to BINGO every week at the CYO Hall.

She loved her grandchildren deeply and was very proud of being ‘Grandma’. There were

summers spent at Salisbury Beach with friends over Labor Day. Upon retirement she was able

to do more travelling on cruises to Bermuda and trips to Florida.

Claire will be interred with her husband Bob at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne

MA with her husband Bob. All services will be private. Any donations in her name can be made

to United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS).
