Claire Towne

Claire (Spisso) Towne, 82, passed away Monday, December 1st at the Stillwater Nursing Home. She was the beloved wife of Donald G. Towne for 41 years. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Victor and Massimina (Calise) Spisso. Claire was the loving mother of Richard E. Haire Jr. (Lora) and Sheila C. Ciccione (David); loving grandmother of Marisa, Janelle, and Jessie; loving great-grandmother of James; stepmother of Robert Towne, Thomas Towne Sr. (Late Jo-Ann), Stephen Towne (Amanda) and Jeffrey Towne. She is also survived by many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the sister of Mary Conway (Late James).
Claire worked for the Department of Motor Vehicles and then the Department of Human Services prior to her retirement. Claire was a devoted Christian who read her Bible daily and was also a member of the Norwood Baptist Church.
Her visitation will be held Wednesday, December 3rd from 10:00-11:00am with a service at 11:00am in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel 2435 Warwick Avenue, Warwick RI. She will be laid to rest in the family plot at First Hopkinton Cemetery in Ashaway, RI.
