Clara Ruth Hill

Clara R. Hill, a cherished and spirited soul, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones, on January 28, 2026, at the age of 88 at her home in Andover, Ohio. Born on July 7, 1937, in Cleveland, Ohio, Clara was the daughter of Jack A. and Margaret E. (Wood) Dare.

Clara met and married the love of her life, Elwin "Ken" Hill, III, on September 16, 1955. She and Ken owned and operated the ABC Heating & Cooling Co. Together, they built not only a thriving business but also a family rooted in love.

Clara's love for her family was the cornerstone of her existence. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Linda Hill of Rock Creek, Ohio; her son-in-law, Bruce Pavlovski of Andover, Ohio; her son-in-law, Donald Lautanen, of New Lyme Township, Ohio; her daughter-in-law, Debra Schneider of Olmsted Falls, Ohio; her sister-in-law, Burdette Schaefer of New Smyrna Beach, Florida; as well as her nine grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immeasurable joy and pride. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, on Dec. 3, 2014; her son, Elwin Hill IV; her daughter, Pamela Pavlovski; son-in-law, Gene Frey; and her sister-in-law, Marsha Nejbauer.

Clara had a passion for cooking for her family and her kitchen was the heart of her home. Those who knew her will remember her loving spirit and how full of life she was. Clara's spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, and her memory will be treasured for generations to come.
