On January 11, 1936, Clarence Lee Davis was born in
Atlanta, TX. He was the oldest of four children growing up with parents, James and Corine Davis. He attended and graduated from Thornton Rosenwald School.
Clarence entered the Airforce and was certified as an Aircraft Rescuer and Firefighter. Although his dream was to become a Firefighter, the climate of segregation during the 60's was a hinderance. He carved a new path and trained to become a welder while working as an armed security guard at the Cow Palace. After 35 years, Clarence retired from United Airlines as an Aircraft Mechanic.
He moved to
San Francisco, CA in 1962. There he met and married Patricia Cunningham. They were blessed with two daughters, Adria and Belva.
In 1986, he married Geraldine (Geri) Watson. They were honored to bring together their three children, Ben, Adria, and Belva.
Clarence was an active member of Acts Full Gospel in Oakland and later Keys to Life Church of
Richmond, California. In March of 2007 he became a founding member and deacon for Beautiful Redeemer Ministries. He enjoyed serving behind the scenes with media and handiwork. He faithfully tended the church grounds, taking pride in ensuring they were beautiful and well-manicured.
Clarence spent his latter years of retirement gardening, and golfing. He spent countless hours at his favorite perch – the kitchen window reflecting, talking to God and thanking him for ordinary miracles. He had an abundance of gratitude for the life God gave him. He loved hymns and traditional gospel. One of his favorites was His Eye is on the Sparrow.
Clarence cherished spending quality time with his family. This past January, Clarence had the great blessing and joy of celebrating his 90th birthday with his siblings in Texarkana, Texas.
As his health declined, his love for God and family only grew stronger. His grandchildren brought unmistakable pride and light to his eyes. On Friday, February 27, 2026, God called His servant, Clarence Lee Davis from labor to reward.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Davis; his sister, Velmarie Ellerbee.
He leaves to cherish his memory; son: Ben Watson (Tandrea); daughters: Adria Davis-Rice, Belva Davis; grandchildren Maikel Hampton, Julian Watson, Talen Watson; siblings: Lucille Turner, Johnny (Thelma) Davis, and a host of loving relatives and friends.
