Clarence Anthony Epson (82) of Gardner, Ks passed away January 24th,2025 surrounded by his family. Services will be held at Skradski Funeral Home. Visitation on Tuesday evening 5-7pm. Funeral service Wednesday at 11:00am with graveside to follow after.
Clarence born October 13th,1942, in Kansas City, Ks. The son of Frank and Anna Epson (KCK) where he was raised, mostly by his beloved Aunt Mary and Uncle Anthony Lovitch. He graduated from Wyandotte HS in 1961 and immediately enlisted in the military (Army). He spent 3yrs with Army and was honorably discharged in 1963. Taking some time when he got back state side he decided to go to the police academy. He joined the KCKPD April 15th,1968. He was promoted to Sargent April 1,1973. He loved his position as Sargent where he could mentor new officers and still be a part of the beat. He remained there until his retirement January 1,1998.
He was preceded in death by his parents, aunt and uncle, brothers Frank Epson, Robert Epson, sisters Lois Ann Saysoff, and Betty Aguilar. His wife Sandy, 2 children Robert (Mike) Long and Rebecca Edwards. Survived by his son Scott Anthony Epson (Sarah) and 4 grandchildren Maizie Peden, Justin Edwards, Derrick Epson, Jake Edwards.
Special thanks to Avalon View (Liberty,Mo) for taking care of him and his needs for the last 6 months, and Three Oaks Hospice for getting him home and taking care in his final days.
