Wichmann Funeral Home - Downtown AppletonClarence Henry Wolfinger Jr. 86, passed away on November 8, 2025. He was born on May 31, 1939, in Dundas Wisconsin to his parents Clarence and Rosella (Van Handel) Wolfinger.
He lived in Dundas for most of his life. He attended Kaukauna High School and graduated from trade school while he was there. He joined the United States Army July 11, 1954, at age 17 and served until July 12, 1956. He married Donna Mae Dohr on June 26, 1963, and had 2 children with her. Unfortunately, he was widowed but was able to find love again and married Barbara Mader on June 30, 1975, together they had 1 child. Again, he was unfortunately widowed but found love with Bonnie. He worked at Thilmany Pulp and Paper for 37 years and retired in 2001.
In Clarences early years, he liked to hunt but always enjoyed fishing. He enjoyed having his chickens, smoking fish and chicken, going to the races and sitting at the bar having a couple of drinks with his friends.
He would try to help anyone he could, especially his daughter and his grandchildren. He liked to build and fix things up that were heavy but will probably never fall apart. He always had a wonderful smile and if he couldn’t hear or understand what you said, he would make a joke to cover it up.
He is survived by his children: William John Wolfinger, Sheila Lyn (Scott) Van Den Bloomer; grandchildren: Andy, Adam, and Amber Wolfinger, Katelyn Wolfinger, Nickolas, Trustyn, and Camilyn Van Den Bloomer, Shayann (Dylan) Ver Hagen; along with 6 great grandchildren; siblings: Mary Rolf, Dorothy Ryan, Grace Zwiers, and Nancy Mattison; and daughter-in-law Lisa Wolfinger; along with many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
Clarence is preceded in death by his 3 wives, his parents, his son Francis Wolfinger and his grandson Joshtin Van Den Bloomer, siblings Carol Frederickson, Lawrence Wolfinger, Richard Wolfinger.
There will be a memorial service on December 4, 2025, at Wichmann Funeral Home 537 N Superior St. Appleton WI 54911. Visitation will be from 4-6pm with the service starting at 6.
