Elk Grove, California - Clarence J. Kresha passed away peacefully on December 9, 2023 in Elk Grove, CA where he resided. Clarence was an active church member at St. Joseph's Church in Elk Grove, CA and a member of the Knights of Columbus and later active at St. Maria Goretti Parish in Elk Grove, CA.

He was born on October 5, 1938 in Osceola, Nebraska to John and Caroline (Stavas) Kresha. He was raised on a farm with his siblings Dorothy (Kush), Florence (Jarecke), Edwin, and Dennis Kresha.

He learned to farm with his father and upon graduation from high school, joined the Navy and served as an aircraft mechanic during his military time. Upon his return to civilian life, He relocated to Lincoln, Nebraska and worked as a mechanic at a Chevrolet dealership there.

He met and married Margaret Kmiecik on November 18, 1961.

In 1964, Clarence and Margaret moved to Sacramento, CA and have lived in the area ever since. Clarence worked for the US Postal Service in vehicle maintenance from 1966 until his retirement. He retired as a supervisor of three Postal Vehicle Facilities in Northern California in 1992.

Clarence is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margaret and brother Dennis. He is also survived by his children: John, Matthew, daughter-in-law Angie, and daughter Christine and son-in-law Brian Tighe. He also has four grandchildren: Mary, Catherine, Daniel and Thomas and his wife Juliet and great-grandson Rowan Tighe.

Funeral Mass for Clarence will be held on Saturday, December 16th at 10am at St. Maria Goretti Parish in Elk Grove followed by graveside services at East Lawn Elk Grove Memorial Park.
