Grovetown, GA – Entered into rest on Thursday, December 5, 2024, Mr. Clarence William “Matt” Masters, 84, husband of Rosa Liu Masters.
Clarence (Matt) was a faithful member at Grace United Methodist Church for over 20 years. As a young man, he attained the rank of Eagle Scout and was also invited into the honor camping organization known as the Tribe of Micosay. Clarence was a veteran of the U. S. Navy which he served for 27 years. He also retired as an electrical engineer. He was a former president of the Jaycees in Manhattan, Kansas and a member of the Rosedale Masonic Lodge #333 in Merriam, Kansas.
Family members include his wife: Rosa Liu Masters; children: Cherie Nelson (Dan), Lorie Zange (David), Brad Masters (Michelle), Chris Masters (Amy), and Tammy Teeters; grandchildren: Tiffany Hunt (Leighton), Shane Nelson, Matthew Nelson, Mason Zange, Evan Zange, Kayla Zange, Whitney Loraine Masters, Whitney Newsome, Alex Powell, Emilie Powell, Connor Powell, Dawson Masters, Chase Masters, Nicole Teeters and Evan Teeters; great-grandchildren: Tucker, Hayes, Kasen, Ava, and Scarlett; brothers: Terry Masters (Celeste) and Gerald Masters (Marsha); sisters: Jean Pattimore and Wilma Schwermer (Mike), sisters-in-law: Judy Masters, Cindy Masters, and Kay Masters; sister-in-law: Sabrina Roger; brothers-in-law: Jared Liu (Sue) and Randall Bao (Rhonda), and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Wilhelmina Masters; brother: Eldon Masters; brother: Robert Masters; brother: Raymond Masters; brother-in-law: John Pattimore; first wife: Anita Masters and granddaughter: Ann Zange.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Grace United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Cathy Jamieson officiating. A private entombment will be held with both Military and Masonic honors. Pallbearers will be Mason Zange, Shane Nelson, Matthew Nelson, Leighton Hunt, Evan Teeters, Dawson Masters, Chase Masters and Connor Powell.
Memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 639 Georgia Avenue, North Augusta, SC 29841.
