Clarence Bernard Williams was born on August 5, 1955, in Columbia (Richland County), South Carolina. He took the glorious journey to be with his God on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at his home in Crestview, Florida.
"C. W.", as he was affectionately called, attended the public schools of Richland County in Columbia, South Carolina. He was a proud member of the last graduating class of Booker T. Washington High School; and was the last student in his class to walk across the stage in May of 1974. While at BTW, he played football, and was a popular member of the Tornado team. Throughout the years, he and his classmates remained in close contact with one another.
After high school, Clarence joined the United States Army. He completed basic training at Fort Jackson Military Center. While on active duty as a Supply Sergeant, Clarence traveled to many corners of the world, to include North Carolina, Virginia, Korea, Germany, and Alaska. He was extremely proud of his service in the Army and would tell anyone with pride and delight that he was a Soldier! He served 20 distinguished years in the Army and was Honorably retired in June of 1994.
Clarence is preceded in death by his loving mother, whom he adored, Mrs. Annie Delores Thompson Williams.
"CW" leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his precious memories; including his loving and devoted wife, Loretta Shepherd Glasgow; and his children, Sophia Elizabeth Williams, and step-son, Anthony Issac Evans, II, all of Crestview, FL; his loving sisters, Zeta Lewis of Charlotte, NC; and Winifred (Nick) Watkins of Columbia, SC; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and countless friends who will always remember him for being a genuine warm and loving person who never met a stranger.
