Clarice "Be" Hanson

Clarice Ida "Be" (Rohweder) Hanson, the daughter of Adolph and Alma (Lassig) Rohweder, was born August 16, 1920, in Little Rock, Iowa. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth, graduating from Little Rock High School in 1938. She then graduated from Morningside College with a Music/English Major and was a member of Kappa Phi Alpha Sorority. On October 16, 1943, Clarice was united in marriage with Wallace Hanson, at the First Methodist Church in New Haven, CT. The couple made their home in Orange City from 1945 to 1950 when they moved to Eagle Grove. She was a substitute teacher and taught piano lessons out of her home. Clarice was a member of the United Church of Christ. She passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2016, at the age of 95 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wally; sister, Verona Stivers and grandson, Jeffrey Hanson. Survivors include her son, Brad Hanson and wife Ann of Mundelein, IL; daughter, Trudy Koch and husband Ron of Buffalo, IL; five grandchildren: J.B. Hanson and wife Katie of Lake Zurich, IL, Curt Hanson of Chicago, IL, Ryan Trotter and wife Deana of Eldridge, IA, Jereme Trotter of Hudson, IA and Nathan Trotter of Parkersburg, IA; eight great-grandchildren: Jacey, Colby and Naomi Hanson of Lake Zurich, IL, Madison, Jackson and Gavin Trotter of Eldridge, IA and Taylor and Wyatt Trotter of Parkersburg, IA and nephews, Keith and Larry Stivers of Chicago, IL. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2016, 1:30 p.m. at United Church of Christ in Eagle Grove with Pastor James Cunningham and Chaplain Rachel Bawden officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
