Clarice Moyer

Mrs. Clarice Ruth Moyer, age 95, passed into the arms of Jesus on December 11, 2025. She died peacefully in her residence in Sturgis, MI. She was the eldest child of Milton and Lucille Hire of Bellevue, OH.

Clarice was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, "Gene", on February 15, 2002. She is survived by her five children: Kathleen and Wayne Anderson (Sturgis, MI); Bruce and Ruth Moyer (Ligonier, IN); John and Beverly Moyer (Bluffton, IN); Rebecca and Ron O'Brien (Pittsfield, IL); and Rodger and Joyce Moyer (Sturgis, MI). In addition, she is survived by eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and two great, great grandchildren. She had also unofficially "adopted" three girls (Velda, Laura, Edna) as her "granddaughters," and referred to their children as her "great grandchildren."

Clarice became an R.N. and practiced nursing for many years even while serving as a pastor's wife, often traveling with her husband to preach revival meetings across the country. She was well-known for her Bible studies on the Book of Revelation.

Visitation for Clarice will be from 10 to 12 noon, Friday, December 19, 2025 at the Auxter-Recker Funeral Home, 1105 Castalia St, Bellevue, OH, with funeral services being conducted at 12 noon. Graveside service will follow at Bellevue Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that memorial donations be made. These will be invested in the Gene and Clarice Moyer Scholarship for training pastors at Kentucky Mountain Bible College.
