In the summer of 1998, Claire attended her 40th class reunion in Buffalo Center where she was re-acquainted with her high school sweetheart, Don Stonebraker. They married the following year and lived in the Minneapolis area until they returned to Buffalo Center in 2016.
Clarie died Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Westview Care Center in Britt. She was 84. She had been a resident there since January, 2017.
She is survived by a sister, Elaine Skaar; and a family friend, Kim Walker, daughter of Don Stonebraker. Preceding her in death are her parents and husband, Donald on January 8, 2017; and sisters Juanita and Diane.
A private family graveside service will be held at Graceland Cemetery in Buffalo Center.
