Claris Croneiser Obituary

PORT LEYDEN - Claris J. Croneiser, 88, formerly of East Road, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the home of her daughter, Ramona Croneiser, in Yorkville.

Claris was born in Boonville on January 20, 1937, a daughter of Clinton and Alice Domser Edick. She grew up in the Turin area, beginning her education at a rural school, before attending General Martin High School, at Glenfield. On February 6, 1954, she was married to Raymond Croneiser at St. Martin's Church, Port Leyden. Afterwards, the couple settled on the Farview Croneiser Homestead Farm on East Road, near Port Leyden, where Claris was the quintessential farmer's wife; operating the dairy farm alongside Raymond and also caring for the needs of her household. In addition to farming, Claris was also employed at the McGee Snow Lodge, Turin, Sunset Nursing Home, Boonville and in Constableville, and later for several years she operated a licensed adult care service within her home. In 2017, Claris moved to her daughter's home in Boonville and since August had resided in Yorkville.

Claris will be fondly remembered as being the best loving, caring Mom there ever was; her love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was never ending.

She is survived by three children, daughter, Sheila (Jim), Lyons Falls; son, Bill, Turin, and daughter, Ramona (Freddie), Yorkville; eight grandchildren, Lisa (Chris) Carver, Ryan Kirk, Matthew (Lexi) Kirk, Arron (Steph) Kirk, Brett (Laura) Croneiser, Richelle (Tom) Croneiser, Lindsey (Nick) Kenealy, Elizabeth (Josh) Griffith; great-grandchildren, Logan, Hallie, Madalyn, Torrie, Evertt, Madelyn, Abel, Adaline, Aria, John, Wyatt and Seth.

In addition to her parents, Claris was predeceased by her husband, daughter and son-in-law, Charleen and Lawrence Kirk Jr.; sister and brother-in-law, Janis and Michael Muha; brother, Clinton Edick Jr; and daughter-in-law, Terri Croneiser.

Her family wishes to extend a special note of thanks and sincere appreciation to Oneida County Hospice, her granddaughter Elizabeth and niece Cathy for all of their assistance and tender loving care that they gave to Claris.

Her services will be private at the convenience of her family. There are no calling hours. Interment will be at a later date in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Constableville.

Memorial contributions may be made to Lewis County Humane Society, PO Box 682, Lowville, NY 13367.

Her arrangements are in care of Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. Boonville. For an on-line message of sympathy, please go to www.trainorfuneralhome.com.
