I had the pleasure of meeting Barry back in 1991 when we worked on a NASCAR project together. Despite our age gap of 28 years, we became good friends and would meet up now and again when I was in Charlotte or Daytona. It was so nice to see Martha and Barry get to spend their retirement years together. Although I had not seen Barry in 15+ year, we would catch up on the phone a couple times per year. Barry and I met back in 1991 when I was in my early 20's where we worked on NASCAR project together. We instantly became friends, even though we had a 28 years age difference. I enjoyed seeing he and Martha enjoy their retired life on the Lake and although I had not seen Barry in 15 years we would always catch up on the phone a couple times per year. never forgot that sock hop at the YMCA in rock hill around 1961 when he and sister Barbara stole the show. we all stood around as they danced.

I was lucky to meet Barry in 2016 at the Coast to Coast AM radio live show in Asheville, NC. Host George Noory asked Barry to come up on stage and I snapped a couple of pictures of their brief meeting. Later, Barry needed to pass through the autograph line, and he and I shared a few laughs. I loved his phone calls to the show! His love and knowledge of rock and roll was extensive. He touched many lives in this world, on Coast, and beyond.
