Tupelo- Clarya Faye Loar, age 81, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025. She was born on September 17, 1944, to Orland Faye Franks and Linda Lee Spigner Franks.
Clarya was a wonderfully kind and gentle woman with a heart that never seemed to run out of room for others. She was a longtime member of Ozark Baptist Church and carried her faith quietly but deeply, always showing love through her actions. She found joy in the simple things, especially tending to her garden and celebrating Christmas, her favorite season of all. Her home was always filled with warmth, festive cheer, and the unmistakable glow of someone who truly treasured her family and traditions.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Johnson Loar, whom she married in 1963 and cherished until his passing in 2003.
She is survived by two children, Terry Loar (Elizabeth) of Tupelo and Melissa McKenzie (Bobby) of Louisiana; ten grandchildren, Shassidy (Adam), Jessicca, Jullianna (Brandon), Jennaffer (Bryan), Ismael (Haley), Daniel (Dusty), Nicholas, Oliver, Kayla, and Tiffany (Max); 18 great-grandchildren; and sister, Sue Ann Heatherly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Johnson Loar; parents, Orland and Linda Franks; brother-in-law, Harold Heatherly; sister, Martha Nell Davis; and brother, Billy Dewayne Franks.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Pegues, Tupelo.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, December 13, 2025, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues Funeral Directors with Bro. Blake Buchanan officiating. A graveside service will follow at Ozark Methodist Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Steve Heatherly, Eugene “Dipper” Heatherly, Bryan Arntson, II, and TJ Loar.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lynden Aydelott and Dalton Arntson.
