In loving memory of our beloved Classy Ely, who entered this world on May 20, 1989, as a beacon of light to all who knew her. Born to the union of Eddie Ely and Valesia Kennard in
Memphis, TN, Classy's journey was one of profound impact and grace.
She pursued her education with diligence, graduating from Messick in
Memphis, TN, and furthering her studies at Ashford University in
Clinton, Iowa. There, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Bachelor of Arts in Organization Management, a testament to her dedication and intellect.
Classy's heart overflowed with love and faith. In 2020, she found solace and purpose in Fields of Joy Ministries, embracing Christ as her savior and receiving baptism in His name in 2021. Within the ministry, she served tirelessly as an usher, in public relations, and on the hospitality team, embodying kindness and compassion in every role.
An entrepreneur at heart, Classy ventured into her own business, founding Classy Telecommunication Service LLC in 2018. Her entrepreneurial spirit inspired others to pursue their dreams with determination and resilience.
Classy's commitment to service extended beyond her business ventures. She dedicated her time and energy to the S.W.A.T. evangelist team for the Association of Independent Holiness Churches, serving in public relations. Her willingness to help had no bounds, as she eagerly embraced various roles wherever her assistance was needed.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Classy found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Crafting and spending quality time with her beloved son were among her cherished pastimes, alongside her unwavering commitment to sharing the gospel.
As a proud member of the Certified Women Business Professional and a dedicated advocate for Black-owned businesses, Classy's legacy of empowerment and inclusivity will forever resonate within our hearts.
On May 3, 2024, as the sun set on her earthly journey, Classy departed this life, leaving behind a profound void in the lives of all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her father, Eddie Ely, two grandfathers, Larry Kennard Sr. and Jimmy Ely, grandmother, Mary Kennard, uncle, Larry Kennard Jr., and her two great-grandmothers, Sarah Dyson and Rv Wright.
Classy leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and faith. She is survived by her devoted mother, Valesia Kennard, her cherished son, Darnell Ely, her loving sister, Tachina Owens, and sister-in-law, Mallory Echols, niece, Alyssia Owens, and a host of adoring aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, all of whom will forever hold her memories dear in their hearts.
