Claude Fowler Obituary
Claude Harry Fowler, long time member of the Currie, NC community, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025, in Wilmington, North Carolina, at the age of 76. Born on March 21, 1949, in Tabor City, North Carolina, he grew up with a strong sense of community and dedication to his family and country.
Harry was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having served bravely during the Vietnam War before being honorably discharged on March 8, 1971. His service to his country was a testament to his altruistic nature and enduring patriotism.
For 45 years, Harry was the owner and operator of Fowler Heating and Air, a business through which he provided warmth and comfort to countless homes until his retirement. His commitment to excellence and a strong work ethic earned him a respected reputation within his community.
In addition to his professional achievements, Harry had a passion for life that extended to his personal interests. He was an avid enthusiast of antique cars, particularly relishing the opportunity to showcase his cherished 1962 Austin Healey at various car shows. As a sportsman, he enjoyed participating in saltwater fishing tournaments and turkey shoots, finding joy in camaraderie and the great outdoors.
Claude was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mattie Fowler; his son, Claude Harry Fowler, Jr.; his parents, Will Dee Fowler and Dessie Zurcher Fowler; and three brothers and one sister.
His legacy lives on through his surviving children, Brooke Tyler and Edie Eastman, and his cherished grandson, Harrison Tyler. He is also survived his sister Peggy Spaulding and by many nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Lealah Fowler Price, and other extended family members who will forever hold his memory dear.
In accordance with Harry's wishes, no formal services are planned. His family asks that those who wish to honor his memory do so by recalling the times shared, laughter exchanged, and love that was unconditionally given.
Claude Harry Fowler will be remembered fondly as a man of integrity, kindness, and strength whose impact on the lives of those around him is immeasurable. May he rest in peace, reunited with loved ones who have gone before him.
