Claude "Nik" Martin Jr., 56, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. Claude was born in Southington, Connecticut, and raised in Bristol, Connecticut. Over the years, he also resided in Pennsylvania and Arizona. He was predeceased by his beloved husband, Kevin Lahr Martin; their cherished fur baby, Cole; his nephew, Dylan James Donahue; his sister-in-law, Debbie Peterson; and his brothers-in-law, Patrick Cyr and Wayne Roche.
Claude is survived by his father, Claude Martin Sr., and his wife, Shirley, of Etna, Maine; his mother, Cecile (Dubay) Martin of Bristol, Connecticut; and his siblings: Nelson Martin of Bristol, Connecticut; Martine (Martin) Cyr of Bristol, Connecticut; Lisa (Martin) Donahue and her husband, Brendan, of Bristol, Connecticut; and Tina (Martin Roche) Levesque and her husband, Richard, of Manchester, Connecticut. He also leaves behind his God children niece, Kelly Martin; his nephews, Jason Martin (Leticia), great-nephew, Dylan Thomas Martin. Nephews, Ryan Martin, Kevin Cyr (Ashley), and David Brooks; as well as his great-niece and great-nephew, Dreismar and Brian Martin
Claude, known as "Nik" to many, spent his younger years working summers at Lake Compounce in Connecticut, where he developed a love for carousels and roller coasters. He later worked for Price Choppers in Southington and in Bristol Connecticut, Mark Facey & Co. in both Connecticut and Pennsylvania. After moving to Arizona, he was employed by a limousine service, where he enjoyed sharing stories of encounters with well-known personalities.
In his spare time, Claude cherished moments with his niece and nephews, earning the affectionate nickname "Uncle Funzo." His warmth, humor, and love for family and friends will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held at
DuPont Funeral Home, 25 Bellevue Avenue, Bristol Ct. 06010, Saturday, February 22, from 2-4pm.
