Oh, Claudette. Along with my parents, she taught me everything I know about music and singing. She was also a shining example of God's love in the world. And, she was truly "the church" - as it is supposed to be- to so many people. She welcomed me into the Bells of Praise when I was a 13-year-old trouble-maker. She truly invested in me, and in so many others - including taking us on across-the-country trips to bell choir festivals, pulling a u-haul and pitching a tent at every stop along the way. She gave her all. As we traveled, she and her mom, who we called Nana, would talk to us about life and about spirituality. Claudette's faith was not just words. Plus, she was cool and funny. She had a twinkle in her beautiful blue eyes and a contagious giggle. We have 1,001 stories of our adventures (too many to tell here) and when we often looked back at those days, we always said that she had indeed earned her wings. Speaking for myself, she saved me. I wound up keeping one foot in the church when I needed to, and then I stayed involved, giving to others, emulating her, for over 40 years. I have much more to say about my "second mom," who was also my parents' sister-by-heart, but I'll close by saying that she was also so, so incredibly talented. It was a real blessing to be involved with her and her musical genius. Her organ playing was breath-taking, and the arrangements that she adeptly tackled were truly awe-inspiring as fingers and feet flew along three rows of keys. She chose beautiful, meaningful songs to play and sing that I still know by heart. She gave so many gifts to all of us, joyfully and humbly. There isn't enough room on this page for me to express how much I love this lady. I am so incredibly grateful for the gift of Claudette. <3

I had the pleasure of working with Claudette at St. Aloysius School. She made music class and singing fun for the students. She always put on the best Christmas and spring concerts! They were wonderful, memorable productions! My children and myself will always have a special place in our hearts for Mrs. Corbin! Rest in peace.
