Claudia Jeannie Baughman

Our Lord and Savior has decided to take our "Beloved Jeannie" to be at home with Him. Her heart of gold and friendly smile are needed there. Claudia Jean "Jeannie" (Helton) Baughman, 55, of Bedford, died at 3 p.m. Saturday at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis. Born Sept. 4, 1954, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Charles Otto Helton and Loretta Jewell (Craig) Helton Mosier. She married Dwayne Baughman on May 7, 2004, and he survives. She was a cardiology ultrasound technician at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. She was a 1972 graduate of Bedford High School and had earned her cardiac echo training certification. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mitchell and the Red Hat Society. Surviving with her husband, Doel Dwayne Baughman of Bedford; are her mother, Loretta Jewell Helton Mosier of Bedford; one daughter, Jodi Wright of Mitchell; three stepchildren, Brandt (Allyson) Baughman of Chesterton, Doel (Keri) Baughman of Clarksville, Tenn., and Autumn Baughman of Mitchell; five grandchildren, Zachary, Lucas, and Lily Wright, and Brenna and Torin Baughman; one brother, Charles Jack (Tammy) Helton of Bedford; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Otto Helton; brother, Richard Helton; and sister, Connie Edmonson. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 1, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Mitchell, with Pastor Dan Hopkins officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at the Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home in Bedford.
