Webster – Claudia V. Costello passed away peacefully on November 25, 2025, at the age of 93.

She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy O'Rourke (George Forsyth); her sons, John Costello (Patti) and Richard Costello (Sandy); and her beloved grandchildren Laura O'Rourke, Sarah O'Rourke (Robert Massey), Erin O'Rourke (Matthew Harper), Kevin Costello, Christopher Costello (Chelsie), Richard Costello (Jasmine), and Casey Costello. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Colton and Reese Massey, Violet Harper, Carmen Costello, and others who brought her great joy. Claudia is additionally survived by several nieces and nephews, all of whom she cared for deeply.

Claudia lived a beautiful and richly fulfilled life. A longtime member of St. Rita Church in Webster, she found deep meaning in volunteering and was instrumental in establishing the parish school library. A voracious reader from childhood, she cherished her years working at the town library in Solvay, NY, where she grew up. Exceptionally well-read, she loved thoughtful conversations about books and current events.

Trained as a dental hygienist, Claudia was a dedicated and trusted member of the practice of Drs. Carl and Craig Santo, DDS, where she cared for patients with skill and compassion for many years.

She was known for her thoughtfulness and generosity, supporting multiple causes close to her heart. She was always sending a card, a handwritten note, a meal, or offering a quiet act of kindness, consistently doing the right thing without expectation.

Claudia loved to travel, especially her trips to Europe and memorable family ski vacations, but her greatest joy was found at her beloved lighthouse. She and her family lovingly restored the Stony Point Lighthouse, transforming it into a treasured summer home. A gracious and generous hostess, she delighted in welcoming friends and family, where countless cherished memories were made.

A talented artist, she expressed her creativity through painting and the intricate hand-stitched works of art she crafted with great care.

Above all, Claudia was profoundly proud of her family. She loved each of them deeply, and was deeply loved in return.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 2, at 10:30 AM at St. Rita Church, 1008 Maple Drive, Webster, NY. A graveside service will follow at Webster Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Claudia's memory to the Webster Comfort Care Home, 700 Holt Road, Webster, NY 14580, where she received outstanding, compassionate care.
