Claudine Sherida Green passed away on February 9,2026 after a courageous battle with cancer. Claudine was born and raised in the Hill District of
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the firstborn child of the late Harry Williams Sr. and Claudette Williams. A devoted believer with a deep passion for Christ, she accepted the Lord at an early age at Victory Temple Original Church of God in Pittsburgh, where the church's charismatic and spirited worship inspired her lifelong mission of service.
Educated in the Pittsburgh Public Schools, Claudine graduated from Schenley High School in 1968. She earned her nursing certificate in 1971 and worked at Shadyside Hospital for more than 17 years. Throughout her career and beyond, she dedicated herself to caring for vulnerable members of her community in many capacities. In 1972, Claudine married David Green. She later welcomed two sons, Cornell Lee and David Lamont. Following a series of life changes, including a divorce, Claudine relocated to Erie, Pennsylvania, in 1989 with her two young boys. There, she found renewed purpose in community and worship at Greater Calvary Full Gospel Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as a deacon and on the usher board. At Greater Calvary, she discovered a sense of warmth and belonging that reminded her of home. She remained a devoted member until relocating to Texas in 2017. Claudine's life was defined by service. In Erie, she worked at Hospitality House, helping battered women and young mothers rebuild their lives. At Stairways Behavioral Health, she supported individuals living with mental illness, and later she served residents at the Soldiers' and Sailors' Home. In every role, she was known for her infectious smile, warm spirit, and unwavering love for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In 2012, she paused her retirement to care for her aging parents, eventually moving to Killeen, Texas, to care for her mother. In February 2017, she joined The Christian House of Prayer in Killeen where she continued her faithful walk with Christ. Claudine will be lovingly remembered for her compassion, strength, and enduring faith. Memorial services will be held in both Killeen, Texas, and
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Claudette Williams; her brothers, Harry Williams Jr., Harlan M. Williams, and Harold M. Williams; her sons, Cornell and David Green; and eight grandchildren-Omari (24), David (22), Joseph (21), Branson (16), Janessa (14), Calliope (12), Apollo (7), and Juniper (4)-along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, and her beloved church family. She was preceded in death by her father, Harry Williams Sr.
