Claudya Windom

On October 09, 1946, the world was blessed with a shining star of hope and her name was Claudya Mae Windom.
Claudya was born in Jackson, Mississippi to Jake Windom and Carrie Lee McCallister. At the age of five, Claudya moved to Las Vegas, Nevada with her father and was adopted by her stepmother, Jessie L. Windom.
Claudya accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and was baptized at an early age. She was raised Baptist and attended Bethel Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. I. W. Wilson and then later Rev. Jessie L. Wesley became her pastor until she moved her membership to New Birth Baptist Assembly Church under the leadership of Bishop Tyrone L. Seals. She loved going to church and was a faithful member.
Claudya graduated from Western High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, and went on to pursue her higher education at Laney College in Oakland, California.
Claudya was employed by Clovers Jewelers for 17 years as an Accountant. Then she accepted a position with the city of North Las Vegas and retired with Clark County Community College after 12 years of service.
If you knew Claudya, you knew that she loved her family. She felt blessed to spend time with them and to celebrate them. Her favorite football team was none other than, the New Orleans Saints. Claudya was a very kind and caring person. If you need someone to talk with, you could always count on Claudya. Her hobbies included bowling, playing spades, having girlfriend time, watching tv shows, and talking on the phone. Claudya would sleep all day and be up all night.
In her pastime, she enjoyed supporting everyone with their endeavors and accomplishments, going to the movies, and having quality family time.
On Tuesday, January 18, 2022, Clauyda departed this life and entered eternal glory. She was preceded in death by her father, Jake Windom; mother, Carrie Lee Mc Callister; mother, Jessie Lee Windom; granddaughter, Arielle Green, grandson; De Anthony Wyatt; and her brother, Eddie C. Thames Jr.
Claudya leaves to forever cherish her memory, her two daughters: LaTonia (Andrew) Dunn and April (Donald) Beasley; son, Damon (Andrea) Davis Sr.; a adopted daughter, Patricia Davis; two sisters: Brenda Husband, and Joyce Barnes; two brothers: Michael Barnes and Jerry (Carolyn) Barnes; 13 grandchildren: Demetress, Roy, LaFanda, Jason, Tramell Jr, Travonte, Aquavion, Dymon, Jessica, Ramisi, Damonie, Damiyah, and Damon Jr., 32 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one special friend for over 40-years, Autry Grove; a friend of 20 years, Claudine Smith; a host of aunts; uncles; cousins; and friends.
Claudya Mae Windom, you will be missed for the love you had for your family. We will keep you in our thoughts and in our hearts.
