Clayre P. Sabatka, 103, of Wahoo, NE, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at South Haven Living Center in Wahoo, NE. She was born March 23, 1921, in Prague, NE to Martin and Mary (Ladenburger) Chvatal. Clayre graduated from Wahoo High School. On May 14, 1945, Clayre was united in marriage to Leo J. Sabatka at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Colon, NE.

Clayre and her husband Leo owned and operated Leo's Variety Store for several years. Clayre was very fond of her time spent at the store. She spent countless hours volunteering in the community, whether it was at her sewing group, making rosaries, or helping at the thrift shop. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, and most of all spending time with her family. Clayre was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and the St. Ludmilla's Guild.

She is survived by her son, Bob (Marilyn) Sabatka; five grandsons, Pat (Amy) Sabatka, Mike (Angie) Sabatka, Jason (Jen) Sabatka, Brent (Nicole) Reynolds, and Austin Speidel; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Norma Chvatal; son-in-law, Steve Speidel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Sabatka; daughter, Marlene Speidel; siblings, Adeline (Bill) Stuchlik, Ben (Margaret) Chvatal, Don Chvatal; and infant brother, Martin Chvatal.

Clayre's family would like to thank South Haven for providing excellent care over the past eight years.

Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday March 8, 2025, 10:30 a.m., at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, 214 E. 2nd St., Wahoo, NE. Celebrant, Rev. Jeffrey Eickhoff.

Visitation: Friday March 7, 2025, 5 to 7 p.m., with 7 p.m., Rosary all at Svoboda Funeral Home, Wahoo, NE.

Interment at St. Francis Cemetery, Wahoo, NE.

Memorials to St. Wenceslaus School or Bishop Neumann High School.
