Clayton Earl Hobbs, Jr. was born on May 27, 1952, in Iuka, Mississippi. He passed away peacefully at his home with his loved ones surrounding him on February 12, 2026.
Earl was a proud outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. His passion for the great outdoors brought joy not only to him but also to those lucky enough to share these experiences with him. He took great pride in his children and grandchildren, who were among his proudest accomplishments.
Earl is survived by his beloved spouse, Margie Hobbs; his children, Ken Hobbs (Christina), Lorie McCalmon (Michael), Toni Nichols (Mike), and Brian Hobbs (Alisha); and his loving grandchildren, Josh McCalmon (Morgan), Karen Robertson, Kyle Wood (Harlie), Stephen McCalmon (Brook), Austin Hobbs (Kylee), Courtney Gladney (Blake), Makayla Stewart (Trenton), Caleb McCalmon (Ciara), Carlie Gambel (Clay), Katie Beth Hobbs, and Kendrianna Hobbs. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Aiden McCalmon, Braeleigh McCalmon, Ellie Gladney, Azlynn Barrow, Ada Hobbs, Everleigh Gladney, Baker Wood, Luna Gambel, Asher Hobbs, Brayden Gladney, Ivory Rose McCalmon, Millie Gambel, Wylder Townes Wood, and Crew James McCalmon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton Earl Hobbs, Sr. and Eva Mae Kinard Hobbs, as well as his siblings, Mary Ruth Hooker and Penny Dendy.
Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS is entrusted with the arrangements. A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Cutshall Funeral Home - Iuka, located at 302 North Pearl Street, Iuka, MS 38852, followed by a funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM, officiated by Bro. Johnny Gwatney. Afterward, he will be laid to rest at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers included Josh McCalmon, Kyle Wood, Stephen McCalmon, Austin Hobbs, Caleb McCalmon, and Gary Lambert. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Houston and Terry Null.
Earl's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He made a lasting impact on the lives he touched and will be deeply missed.
