Clayton Elwood Twine

Clayton Elwood Twine, age 81, of Elizabeth City, NC, died at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center on Monday, December 8, 2025. Born in Pasquotank County, NC, on June 29, 1944, to the late Elwood Steve Twine and Rosemary Etheridge Twine, he was the husband of Beverly Yvonne Jones Twine. Clayton worked as a pipefitter at the shipyard until his retirement. He was a founding member of the River City Shag Club.
In addition to his wife, Clayton is survived by two daughters, Christi Martin Boseman (Adrian) and Kimberly Twine Bright; a sister, Laura Twine; two grandchildren, Amanda Nicole Martin and Abigail Nicole Bright; and two great-grandchildren, Bailey Ann Lilly and Hunter Richard Lilly. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Twiford Memorial Chapel.
