Cleata Gail (Huffine) Henderson, age 75, passed away on March 22, 2025, at her home in Malakoff, Texas. She was born on August 13, 1949, in Hobart, Oklahoma to parents Eldon Henry and Ila Mae (Dickerson) Huffine.
Cleta graduated from Plainview High School in 1968. She married Ira Franklin Henderson on September 14, 1968. Gail was a farmer’s wife, who poured her heart and soul into her family. She worked for 10 years, being blessed to serve the children of Eustace ISD in the cafeterias. She was part of the Texican’s reenactments on the Mountain in Canton, where she loved playing the part of Miss Callie. She loved dancing and fishing with her grandkids and great-grandkids.
Gail is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years; both her parents; one child; and two brothers, James and Dean Byford.
Gail is survived by both her children, Bryan Henderson and wife Renee; and Amanda Stewart and husband Tony; cousin, Sondra Long; her brother and sisters, Tommy Cartwright; Doris and husband Danny Kosier; Linda and husband Daniel Platt; Margie Cartwright and Carl Moore; Pat and husband Herb Armstrong; Jo Ann Perry; Marie Byford; grandchildren, Miski Garrett; Chance Henderson; James (Boggie) Garrett; Cheyenne Henderson; Mathew Stewart; Clara LillyRose Henderson; Honey Terraleigh Henderson; great-granddaughters, Madison Blackburn; Presley Saenz; as well as numerous other family, friends, and loved ones.
