Cleeta Joan Culp Mohun "Nana" age 89, entered into eternal rest on November 6, 2022 in McAllen Texas. She was born August 29,1933 in Stella, Missouri and grew up in Tulsa Oklahoma. It was at Will Rogers High School that she met the love of her life-Michael Thomas Mohun. They married in 1951 and moved to Texas where she worked for Houston Independent School District for 25 years. Nana enjoyed quilting, gardening, but mostly hugging her family and watching her beloved Astros.
Joan is preceded in death by her loving husband, Michael T Mohun, her siblings, Doyle Culp, Jay Culp, Wilma Culp White, and Betty Culp Payne.
Joan is survived by her son Michael Thomas Mohun Jr. (Irene) daughter Susan Gay Mohun Carlin (Richard) Her grandchildren, Kevin Carlin, Joanne Carlin Mann, Samantha Mohun, Michael Mohun III, 2 great-grandchildren, Lincoln Mann and Eliza Mann and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joan loved everyone close to her and was an example of kindness and generosity. She was truly selfless and always pouring herself out to help others. She will be greatly missed by all those who were touched by her unconditional love.
Visitation will be November 18, Friday, from 4-7 p.m. A Chapel service on Saturday, November 19, will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by a graveside interment. There will be a reception to follow at 11:30 a.m. The Chapel service will be live streamed on Saturday 10a.m. Pallbearers are Stephen Friend, Kris Nirk, Beau Jeffries, Austin Jeffries, Kevin Carlin, and Michael T. Mohun III.
All services will be conducted by Floral Haven Funeral Home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
