My wife (Rita) and I met Clem and his wife when we started attending East Vancouver Community Church about a year and a half ago. He seemed to be in robust health and was one of the first to make us feel welcome at church. He was always vibrant and had a winning smile on his face. I don't know how we got on the subject of strawberry/rhubarb pies, but we did. He found out that I was growing strawberries and I found out he was growing rhubarb. Right away, he offered to bring over some rhubarb so I could make a pie. Just a few days later, he showed up with a large bag of cut up rhubarb! I was so grateful! We'll miss him very much, but we know we'll see him in heaven one day!
