Clifford Altier Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors - Hodgson Chapel on Dec. 16, 2025.
Clifford "Tippy" William Altier, 64, passed away December 15, 2025, at Hartwell Health & Rehabilitation under the care of Hospice. Born May 20, 1961, in Savannah, he grew up on Tybee Island and was known for his sharp wit, humor, and generous heart. Despite the challenges he faced, Tippy embraced life with resilience and optimism. After earning his diploma from Sol C. Johnson High School and studying computer programming at Savannah Technical School, he continued to find joy in the things that mattered most.

He loved cheering on his beloved Atlanta Falcons and Georgia Bulldogs, and he discovered a true passion for photography. His greatest joy came from capturing the people and moments closest to his heart, leaving behind treasured memories that will continue to inspire and comfort his family and friends.

Tippy is survived by sisters Susan Armstrong (Richard) and Donna Welch; sister-in-law Patsy Altier; and nieces and nephews Larry Wester, Amanda Welch, Lisa Corbin (Scott), Jennifer Jeffcoat (Todd), Michael Altier III, and Jimmy Altier. Among his many beloved family and friends, Jason and Jenny Ferguson and Scott and Sallie Vaughan held a special place in his heart. He was preceded in death by his parents; Michael and Jean Altier Sr.; brothers Michael Jr. and Roger; and numerous beloved aunts, uncles, nephews, and cousins

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
