Clifford Marinus Bush passed away peacefully on the morning of November 3, 2025, surrounded by family. He was 92 years of age.

Cliff was born in Pocatello, Idaho, to Grace Roylance and the late Marinus Arthur Bush (who passed 4 months before Cliff’s birth). His mother then married Elmer Williams and the two families blended. He was raised in Lakeview, Oregon where he developed a strong work ethic and love of the outdoors while working on the family farm with his 7 brothers (Tess, Ralph, Frayne, Tom, Richard, Theo and Delyn). In school, he excelled academically and athletically—serving as football captain, student body president, and earning “Citizen of the Year” honors. He received a scholarship to attend Oregon State University. After two years at OSU, he was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he served as a Communications Specialist using Morse code.

Following his military service, Cliff transferred to Brigham Young University, a decision that shaped his future. There, he met and married his eternal sweetheart, Carol Ann Maxfield in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 9, 1958. Together, they raised eight children—Steven (Carol), Kerry (Darla), Daron (Staci), Wayne (Lisa), Kristeen (David), Cynthia (Jose), Kevin (Carie), and David (Roxanne)—while living in Idaho Falls, Vernal,Provo and Richfield.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Cliff loved playing, coaching, and passing on his love of sports to his children. He especially enjoyed cheering on his beloved BYU Cougars. Cliff spent his career working for the State of Utah in the Department of Workforce Services. Cliff held many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, accepting each with faith. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and gardening with his family well into his 80’s.

After Carol’s passing in 1996, Cliff was blessed to meet Carma Smith. They married on August 7, 1998, blending two families and later serving a mission together in Mesa, Arizona, where they worked among the Navajo people and at the Temple Visitors’ Center.

To those who knew him, Cliff was a source of wisdom, kindness, humor, and faith. His legacy is one of unwavering devotion—to God, family, and the simple joys of life. He is survived by his wife Carma; brother, Theo; seven children; three stepsons (Kevin, Brett, and Brian Hoffmeier); 34 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
