Clifford Duane Colquitt left his earthly body to reside in the presence of Jesus on November 23, 2025. He was born on November 8, 1934 in Phoenix, Arizona. The oldest child of John Richard Colquitt and Helen (Geib) Colquitt, Clifford spent his early years in Arizona and Colorado. He is a graduate of Morgan Park High School in Chicago, IL and Emory University in Atlanta, GA where he earned a B.A. in sociology. In 1960 he married the love of his life, Frances Ruth Main, a Scottish native. Together they had three children, Victoria, David, and Mark.

After serving with the Chambers of Commerce in Monmouth, IL and Fredericksburg, VA, Cliff moved his family to Nashua, NH in 1969 where he and Fran established their permanent home. There, together with Fran, Cliff founded Preferred Positions, Incorporated and Temporary Positions, Unlimited, providing permanent and temporary employment placement services for the region.

Cliff's faith in Jesus as his Lord and Savior guided his life. His children remember him reading the Bible to them regularly, praying at each meal, and faithfully serving with the Gideons, and in various leadership roles at Trinity Baptist Church and later at Community Chapel, both in Nashua.

Cliff loved the game of golf. In 2015 he scored a hole in one at the 6th hole of the Canterbury Woods Country Club course.

One of the most resilient people his family knew, Cliff set an example as he faced some of life's most difficult challenges with hope and perseverance. From this trait flowed his steady encouragement of others. Cliff was also a romantic at heart, loving poetry, the stories of the Old West, and Beethoven. He and Fran treasured their many Great Danes and their English cocker spaniel Sam.

Cliff was predeceased by his beloved wife of 62 years, Frances; his son, Mark; and his parents.

He is survived by his daughter, Victoria (Robert) Kennedy of Atkinson, NH; his son, David (Catherine) Colquitt of New Bern, NC; and his grandchildren, Amy (Tyler) Cotter of Bow, NH; Andrew Colquitt of Concord, NH; John Colquitt of Concord, NH; James Colquitt of Bow, NH; MacKenzie Kennedy of Amesbury, MA; Walker (Ashley) Kennedy of Sheridan, WY; and Shelby (Blaze) Carpenter of Nashville, TN. He also leaves two great-grandsons, Mason and Owen Cotter; his brothers, Richard (Sherry) Colquitt of Las Vegas, NV, and Howard Colquitt of Tempe, AZ; along with several nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: A funeral service will be held at West Congregational Church, 767 Broadway, Haverhill, MA on Monday, December 1st at 11:00 a.m. A private burial will follow at Atkinson Cemetery, Atkinson, NH. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations in Cliff's memory to Bradford Christian Academy, 97 Oxford Avenue, Haverhill, MA 01835, an organization that he was proud of and loved.
