Passed away, suddenly after a brief illness, on August 29, 2025 at the age of 74.
Predeceased by his father, Clifford J. Provost Jr. & mother, Beatrice Provost.
He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Carole Messina-Provost "Baby Doll"; children, Brian (Andrea) Provost & Ellen Baker (Provost); grandchildren, Makenzie, Madisyn, Mikaylee & DJ; brother, Dale (Barb) Provost; sister, Beth Provost; step-dog, Elphaba; many nieces, nephews & cousins.
CJ lived life with a big heart, a playful spirit, and a love for all the things (and people) that made him happiest. A true sports fan through and through, he could often be found cheering on or yelling at his beloved Yankees and Bills. Whether he was watching from the stands or the couch, sports were more than a pastime-they were a passion he loved sharing with family and friends.
When the cards were dealt, CJ was in his element. From countless Euchre games, whether in leagues, for benefits, or just for fun, to the occasional round of blackjack, he had a knack for turning a card game into laughter-filled memories.
Music was another joy in his life. At home with SiriusXM radio turned up, or out with friends enjoying live bands & singing Kareoke. CJ was happiest when the beat was playing to "Uptown Funk" and he was out on the dance floor with his “Baby Doll.”
Above all, family was everything to CJ. His greatest pride came from cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events, camera in hand, capturing every moment he could. He never missed a chance to take a picture, especially of the people he loved most.
And of course, no story of CJ would be complete without mentioning his beloved 2025 Honda CR-V. He cherished that car, running it through the carwash several times a week and keeping it in tip-top shape. To him, it wasn’t just a vehicle-it was part of the family, always sparkling and ready for the next adventure.
Most of all, he’ll be remembered for the love he gave so freely to his family and friends. And his family finds comfort in knowing CJ is now at the Big Yankee Stadium in the sky, cheering on his team forever.
Family will receive friends Saturday September 13, 2025 from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm. CJ's Army honors will be rendered at 4:00 pm & a memorial service to immediately follow, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue.
In lieu of flowers, in honor of CJ, contributions may be made to: Hilton Baptist Church, 50 Lake Ave, Hilton, NY 14468
