Clifton Ross Johnson

Clifton Ross Johnson, 42, passed away on March 22, 2026-his birthday. He was born on March 22, 1984.

Clifton lived life loud, full, and without hesitation. He had a deep love for the outdoors, especially days spent at the lake, where some of his best memories were made with family-laughing, fishing, and simply enjoying the moment. He also enjoyed deer hunting and took great pride in his time on the golf course with his brother Travis and stepdad Mark.

Known by many names-"CJ" in his younger years, "Cwiffy" on the farm, and later "Clif" or "Cliffy"-each reflected a different chapter of a life well lived and deeply loved.

Clifton proudly served as a police officer and later worked as a C Operator at Phillips 66. More than anything, he was a devoted family man.

His five children-Addison, Isabella, Colton, Brendon, and Sydney-were his greatest pride and joy, and the center of his world.

He will be remembered for his big heart, infectious laugh, and playful spirit-especially the way he could make anyone smile, often with his signature "shhhh" and a joking headlock.

Clifton loved showing up for the people in his life-whether at the lake, in a deer stand, on the golf course, or watching OU football-he made every moment count.

He is now reunited with his father, Curt; his grandparents, JR "Sam" and Dolores Johnson, and Jack and Donna Johnson; his step-siblings, Scott and Amanda Fromong; his uncle Chad Bright; and his best friend, Kyle "Tiny" Davis.

He is survived by his five beautiful children, Addison, Isabella, Colton, Brendon, and Sydney Johnson; his mother, Patricia Phelps; his stepfather, Mark Phelps; his stepmother, Renee Johnson; his brother, Travis Phelps; his little sister, Jenifer Schulz; his three nieces, Kaydence Navarro, Jordyn, and Jensyn Schulz; his aunt, Tammi Johnson; his uncles, Steve and Doug Johnson; his cousins, Steven and Kristopher Johnson, Sara Barnes, and Emily Boggs; his cousin and best friend, Josh Johnson; and many close friends.

Clifton will be deeply missed and forever remembered in every lake day, every round of golf, every cast of a line, and every "shhhh."
