Clifton Oliver Shoultz II, 71, of Indianapolis, died on April 13, 2025 after succumbing to a long-term illness.
Cliff had retired from RCI in Indianapolis. In his earlier days, he was a teacher and basketball coach at Southwestern Elementary School in Shelby County. He was known for his kindness, sense of humor, generosity, and creativity. One of his hobbies was designing and making beautiful greeting cards, as well as, bookmarks that he shared with a nearby elementary school.
Cliff was also a devoted animal lover. He had a membership to the Indianapolis Zoo where he visited as often as possible, and where some animals would recognize his voice. Those who knew him well will remember his love for his cat, Dixon.
Born to Clifton Oliver Shoultz, and Bonnie Shoultz in Beech Grove, IN, on November 3, 1953, he grew up in Shelby County, and attended the Triton Central Schools. He graduated cum laude from Franklin College and then earned a Masters degree from IUPUI.
Cliff is survived by his sister, Debarah Shoultz; brother, Richard (Nikki) Shoultz; and two nieces, Emma and Ellie Shoultz. He is preceded in death by his parents, and nephew, Riley Shoultz.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.
Those wishing may make memorial donations through the funeral home to the Indianapolis Zoo.
