Clinton Charles Nauman

Clinton C. Nauman, age 94, of Chillicothe, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
Clinton was born on June 10, 1931 in Peoria, IL to Joseph John and Lucille Veronica (Gilles) Nauman. He married his high school sweetheart, Michaelin Martha Antonacci, on November 26, 1955 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brimfield. She preceded him in death on March 6, 2016. Also preceding him in death are his parents, two brother-in-laws and two grandchildren.
Surviving are his children, Nancy Nauman of Muscatine, IA, Marcia Ripsch of Normal, IL, Sally (Sean) Coyle of Princeville, IL, Michael (Janet) Nauman of Princeville, IL and Joseph (Debbie) Nauman of Chillicothe, IL; his grandchildren, Phillip (Britny) Coyle of East Peoria, Ashley (Joel) Gollnitz of Bloomington, Katherine (James) Shippy of Champaign, and Hunter Nauman of Normal; his siblings, Mary Lou (Jim) Schmidt of Peoria, Joann Krumholz of Metamora, Lyle (Marisue) Nauman of Fridley, MN and Darlene Mekley of McNabb, IL; sister-in-law, Joanne Whittaker of Davenport, FL and many nieces and nephews.
Clinton graduated from Brimfield High School, where he was a member of Future Farmers of America. He went to work for Caterpillar as a machinist and then graduated to a Millwright, when he retired after 29 years of service. He was a longtime member of St. Edward Catholic Church in Chillicothe and the Central Illinois Farm Heritage Tractor Club. Clinton was also a 4-H Project Leader, helping his kids with Registered Black Angus Cattle and other animals. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, mushroom hunting and Allis-Chalmers tractors.
Clinton and Mickie opened their home to host AFS exchange students from Norway and Australia, along with an IFYE student from Italy. Together they also enjoyed traveling with the Peoria County Farm Bureau members on Peoria Charter Coach tours.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025 from 4pm to 7pm at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe, with recitation of the Rosary at 3:30pm. Visitation will also be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 10am to 11am at St. Edward Catholic Church with a Funeral Mass beginning at 11am. Burial will be at Chillicothe City Cemetery. Memorials in Clinton's name may be made to St. Edward Catholic Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
