Clyde "Shorty" Bean

Clyde Edward "Shorty" Bean, age 78, of Ike Lynch Rd passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Carolinas Healthcare Systems Lincolnton. He was born December 30, 1939 in Caldwell County to the late Floyd Edward and Nora Lorenea Bean Bean. He was a member of Anthony Grove Baptist Church and was a self-employed machinist. Clyde loved restoring cars and riding motorcycles. He had a great sense of humor and adored his family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a half-sister, Hazel Herms. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Christine Yvonne Swanner Bean; daughters, Robin Holt and Mallie of Charlotte, Lisa Sneed and husband, Rocky of Dallas and Rachel Bean and husband, William Negron of Dallas; grandchildren; Brittany Lewis, Devin Sneed, Katherine Holt, Seth Holt and Beth Hale; great-grandchildren, Chancey and Daniel Lewis. A funeral service will take place Monday, July 2, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Anthony Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Bean and Rev. Ralph Carver officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends Monday prior to the service from 1:30 until 2:45 PM at the church. Memorials may be made to Cancer Society of Gaston County, 306 S. Columbia St Gastonia, NC 28054.
