Clyde William Conger, M.D.

Clyde William Conger, M.D., 82 of Lima, Ohio died on Thursday, June 21, 2012, 4:04 P.M. at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio. Born Saturday, December 28, 1929 in Delaware, Ohio, he was the son of the late James A. Conger and the late Ruth Glesenkamp Conger. Clyde married Mary Drake on February 27, 1999 in Bloomington, Indiana. She survives in Lima. Dr. Conger was an Anesthesiologist with Anesthesia Associates of Lima. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. He was the former Chief of Staff at Lima Memorial Health Systems. He was a graduate of The Ohio State University Medical School; a member of The Ohio state Medical Association; was a member of Army Group "Big Red 1", stationed in Kansas, and he was an avid reader. He served in the United States Army from 1957 until 1959. Surviving are: sons, David (Kim) Conger of Paynesville, OH and Douglas (Rachel) Conger of Sylvania, OH; a daughter, Cathy (Terry) Kirkendall of Lima, OH; three step children, Nancy (Bruce McConnell) Farmer of Clermont, Fl., Jim (Teresa) Billingsley of Bloomington, IN; and Elizabeth Sherfield of Bloomington, In; eight grandchildren, Laura (Scott) Lachmiller, Paul Kirkendall, Phillip Kirkendall, Matthew Conger, Allison Conger, Adam Conger, Logan Conger, Belle Conger; sister, Virginia Sheets; eight step grandchildren, Lindsey Farmer, Cody Billingsley, Savannah Billingsley, Lizzie Billingsley, Kyle Huttenlocker, Shawn Huttenlocker, Amber (Travis) Kay, and Cory Huttenlocker; five step great grandchildren, Caden, Carson, Callahan, Anna, Jackson; a sister, Virginia Sheets; a sister-in-law, Doris Conger; and several nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Victor Conger. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, June 24, 2012, at Trinity United Methodist Church. A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Monday at Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev David Harris officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Delaware, OH at 4:00 P.M.
