Clyde Edward Copeland

Clyde (Jobo) Edward Copeland of Smiths, Alabama passed peacefully in his sleep on February 17, 2026, in the home of his daughter Amy Anissa Watkins and Benji Watkins, with family at his bedside and his precious dog Mitzi in his bed.
He was born on November 3, 1939, the son of the late Louie and Ambert Copeland of Phenix City, Alabama. Jobo, his nickname from birth, was a veteran of the United States Air Force, an insurance agent for many years, and spent the last of his working years as an all around handy man who could repair, design, improve, or build anything he set his mind to. His passions, however, dwelt in the outdoors. He loved to run, bike, hike, kayak, or simply sit beside a stream or lake and enjoy the peace. He was the epitome of integrity, honesty, and character. He was a man of God and the most loyal son, brother, husband, father and friend that anyone could wish for.
He was preceded in death by both parents, his sister Ann Copeland Coulter and his wife Marsha Phyllis Copeland.
Jobo is survived by his son Clyde Edward Copeland Jr (Angie) of Smiths, AL, his daughter Amy Anissa Watkins (Benji) of Smiths, AL, his daughter Amber Danette Brandt (partner Jeremy) of Salem, AL, his brother in law Neal Coulter (Ann), his wife's brothers Keith English (Joanne) and Steve English, his loyal pet Mitzi, as well as 8 beloved grandchildren,1 great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. This does not include the vast number of remaining family members, friends, admirers and fans who will feel his loss profoundly.
There will not be a service at this time per his request. He was explicit in his wishes with his family and they will be fulfilled at a later date.
