Clyde "Gene" Dougherty

Clyde "Gene" Dougherty, 88, of Candor, NY went to be with the Lord, Saturday, August 20, 2022 at home surrounded by his family. Gene was born in Candor, NY to the late James and Helen Dougherty. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by an infant sister, brother, Lawrence Dougherty, sister, Mabel Stangle. Gene is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lena Dougherty; seven children, Glenn and Annette Dougherty, Maureen Dougherty and Craig Kranz, Annette and Dan Estelle, Guy and Patricia Dougherty, Rebecca and Jeff Jantz, Tracy and Karen Dougherty, Sandra Dougherty; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and dear friends. Gene owned and operated a poultry farm for many years and was an active member of Grace Bible Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Gene will be remembered for being a gentle, kind, faithful man who was devoted to his family and to serving the Lord with all of his heart. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 26, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 137 Main St., Candor, NY. The family will receive friends Thursday Evening from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Private burial services will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Lounsberry, NY.
