Clyde R. Hardy
July 31, 1954 – November 21, 2025
Jonesville, NC –
Mr. Clyde R. Hardy, 71, of Howell School Road, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 21, 2025, at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Born July 31, 1954, in Iredell County, he was the son of the late Joe and Anne Eller Hardy.
Clyde was a man of quiet strength and remarkable skill. Having retired from the Austin Company, he was known by many as someone who could build just about anything. Whether crafting cabinets, building decks, or lending a helping hand on a carpentry project, Clyde’s workmanship and generosity left a lasting mark on all who knew him.
He found simple joy in life’s familiar comforts—especially watching old Westerns and spending time with his family. A member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Clyde lived his faith through kindness, humility, and service. Above all, he was a loving and dedicated father and PawPaw who cherished every moment with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Hardy; his daughter, Mindy Hardy; and his brother, Kenneth Hardy.
He is survived by his son, Benjamin (Christin) Hardy; stepdaughters, Sherry (Dean) Key, Lynn (Chris) Gardner, and Jennifer (Todd) Birch; grandchildren, Rylee, Brittany, Destiny, Jake, and Sydney; sisters, Peggy Maillet, Shirley White, and Kay (Benny) Wilkins; brothers, Larry (Terri) Hardy, Jeffrey (Shelia) Hardy, Jerry Hardy, and Mark (Melissa) Hardy; his close canine companion, Trixie; as well as several nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday at Shiloh Baptist Church in Hamptonville. A funeral service celebrating Clyde’s life will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Childress, Rev. Kelly Childress, and Rev. Cody Amburn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate nurses and staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Statesville Novant Health Cancer Center for their exceptional care and kindness.
