Clyde Lavern Sparks, 90, passed away on February 6, 2026, in Martinsville, Virginia. He was born on July 28, 1935, in Muskegon, Michigan, to the late Rodney Sparks and Nina Thompson Sparks. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Edith Barrett Sparks; and siblings, Ina Mae Clute, Arthur Sparks, Fred Hippler, and Dale Hippler.
Clyde was a general contractor for many years, until his retirement. He attended the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Martinsville, Virginia.
Clyde is survived by his children, Jerald Sparks (Jan), Melody Hagner (Henry), Rodney Sparks, and Merrilee Rojas (Joe); and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 3 p.m., at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Martinsville, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The American Heart Association, or the American Diabetes Association, in Clyde's honor.
